RFM Library Mission:

To collect, preserve, and circulate titles that serve a literary purpose about the Quaker tradition and its values, or that relate to religious, spiritual and social justice interests of the Quaker community.

Library Donation Policy:

Donations of books, videos, or audiobooks can be made directly to the Raleigh Friends Meeting Library by placing them in the front entrance or in one of the wicker return baskets near the bookshelves. Raleigh Friends ask that the donor be mindful that we have limited space in the library and only volunteers to manage the collection. It may not always be possible to use all donated items. We request that only new or gently used books be donated. All donations should be current titles (published within the past 5 years), with the exception of replacing missing or damaged copies. Please do not donate materials if the meeting already has one or more copies of that title in good condition. Once items are donated, they become the property of the RFM Library. If the library cannot use all items, the excess items will be passed on to another home unless the donor requests that the meeting return the title to them in advance. The library will share some of its excess donations with other non-profit organizations to help establish their libraries..

Circulation Policy:

The RFM Library circulates its titles by the “honor system”. We request that the borrower complete the form for each title in the check-out binder located on the center library book shelf and return within a few weeks to allow other readers to enjoy. When returning the book, please place the book in one of the “return” baskets near the shelves and cross out your name and title in the check-out binder.

Library Catalog:

The library catalog is now online for all to access. It can be browsed by title, author, subject (tags), Dewey, etc. To access the catalog, go to http://www.librarything.com/catalog/RaleighFriends. The URL and search window for the library catalog are highlighted in the screen below. By clicking on any of the blue column headings, the titles can be sorted by that column.
