Parking Issues

In early September, two attenders noticed a new sign posted in parking lot that is directly across the street from our meetinghouse.  The sign notifies drivers that unauthorized cars will be towed away the owners expense.  The sign is fairly new, it's still very clean and bright.  It is also easy to ignore
if one is used to parking in the lot and dashing across the street.  Therefore this reminder.
Raleigh Friends Meeting has an agreement with the owners of the office furniture business to use their parking lot on the weekends.   No parking on week days during business hours OR after business hours.  When meeting representatives had a face-to-face conversation with one of the owners a couple of years ago, he stated that he knew there were people using the lot throughout the week.  He was very clear that he could understand why people would park there but the owners wanted it accessible for their purposes.  Perhaps they have liability concerns as well.  Following that conversation, we contacted meetinghouse users to clarify the agreement Friends have with the owners of the parking lot.
We are aware that mid-week users continue to park in the lot and it seems the property owner has decided to be more assertive in making sure the message is
delivered.  In hopes of avoiding cars being towed from the parking lot we would like to draw your attention to the new sign now posted in the parking
lot - the sign at the curb has been spray painted and is an old sign.  The new sign is on the pole in the parking lot.
Raleigh Friends Meeting has been authorized to use the lot only on weekends.  Please help spread the message to your groups, classes, fellow users, etc. so that no cars
will be towed.  We appreciate the generosity of the property owners in sharing the asphalt with Friends on the weekends and we will continue to honor our agreement to the
best of our ability.
