Friends General Conference

Nurturing faith and Quaker practice

North Columbus Friends Meeting

We are...
North Columbus Friends Meeting is an unprogrammed Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers).

North Columbus Friends Meeting recognizes that, because of the climate of fear and hostility fed by the recent election, many who have been explicitly targeted by the campaign, including people of color, LGBTQ+ people, Muslims, immigrants and people with disabilities, may feel particularly unsafe, excluded or afraid.

We publicly identify our Meeting as a place of refuge and sanctuary for our neighbors who might feel under threat. As Friends, we are committed to oppose racism, homophobia, Islamophobia, and gender-based violence; as well as discrimination and oppression in all its forms.

We welcome opportunities to partner with and accompany marginalized communities. We are open to participating in any ecumenical, interfaith and community events that promote unity, connection, dialogue and mutual respect; and oppose hate and division.
Advice from the Baltimore Yearly Meeting for Friends seeking to be supportive and inclusive:

What's New

How does our Meeting act to advance peace, to oppose violence, and to support the constructive use of authority in our community, our nation, and the world? What are we doing as a Meeting to recog- nize and correct the causes of violence within our communities, and to work toward overcoming separations and restoring wholeness?

David C. Jehnsen, who is known throughout the world as a social change activist, organizer and teacher of nonviolence and of adult education for democracy, will be the guest of North Columbus Friends Meeting on May 28, when he will be visiting the discussion group, from 9 a.m. to 10 (please note that this is a half hour earlier than usual, with coffee available from 8:30 a.m. to 9).
