On June 13th (at the end of Whitsun Week) George Fox, the first Quaker, preached to about 1000 people at Firbank Fell near the town of Sedbergh in the Lake District in England. It is generally thought to be the beginning of the Quakerism and lasted about 3 hours. Many of those gathered were convinced by Fox’s message from this rocky crag.
