Vocal Ministry in Meeting for Worship
An introduction, queries and resources in preparation for the Feb 19 Gathering topic on vocal ministry:
Vocal ministry is one of the ways we minister to each other when we gather in worship. Our vocal ministry is one of the ways the Sacred ministers to us. At its best, vocal ministry transcends our thoughts and opinions and takes us deeper into worship and into deeper communion with each other. In preparation for the Gathering topic on February 19, you may want to reflect on the following queries and read a bit about what Quakers have written on vocal ministry.
Queries:
- When do you know to speak?
- When do you know to stay silent?
- If you don’t speak, what stops you?
- When you hear someone speak in meeting, how do you respond internally?
