10/16/16 – Waking Up White – Andrea Swinton
- Book discussion of Waking up White, a Memoir by Debby Irving 
- Debby Irving’s book Waking up White opens a rare window into the socialization of white American culture.  Join Andrea for an illuminating dialog and opportunity to dismantle old perspectives and myths about race.
- Bio - Andrea Swinton has a degree in Human Performance Management and is a master's candidate in Multicultural Education.  She has worked in the area of "celebrating differences" for over 30 years. Andrea has designed, developed and delivered programs and curriculum for organizations of parents, educators, non-profit, and for profit companies throughout the US. Her participants have included persons whose roots are from over twenty different cultures. Andrea has the people who participate in her  programs experience being valued and appreciated.
11/6/16 – Conversation on Death and Dying – Laura Matika
- Open Contemplative Discussion about Death and Dying
- Laura has been bringing transformation to this difficult conversation for the past 7 years.  Her open discussion format allows for community dialog and connection.  You will leave with an experience of freedom and lightness!

- Short Quaker Speak Video with informal guided discussion in a friendly communal atmosphere
- First in a series of informal Lansdowne Friends Meetings for Learning that will show a selected Quaker Speak Video topic.  Afterwards a short guided discussion will follow on the topic followed by an informal fellowship gathering with light snacks and beverages. Sure to be a meeting favorite

- In an informal writing session, we will explore our individual spirituality, finding words that describe the inward experience of light.
3/5/17 – Finding Community in Environmental Stewardship  – Dana Robinson & Nancy Sleater
- Community and Stewardship are two of our most important testimonies.  What possibilities take shape when we open ourselves up to their combined inspiration?

5/7/16 – Bird Watching – Laura Matika
- It's Warbler season!!!  Join Laura Matika for a family bird walk at John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge.
- This is the best time for Spring birding!  Laura has been birding for over 40 years and will lead a walk at one of the hottest spots in the area.  Bring your binoculars if you have them.  You can also leave your car keys at the desk of the Cusano Nature Center to borrow a pair, however there is a limited number to loan.  Beginners welcome!
