Howard Thurman readings

Adult Religious Education, February 19

Please join us for adult religious education when we will read from Howard Thurman and discuss of his understanding of mysticism and spirituality.  As an African-American, he dedicated his work to bringing people together and his writings are still an inspiration.  Howard Thurman lived from 1899-1981.  He had a college degree from Morehouse College and a ministerial degree from Colgate Rochester Seminary when he undertook a semester of special study with Quaker Rufus Jones at Haverford College.  Though he never joined a Quaker meeting he was a member of the the Wider Quaker Fellowship and remained closely connected to Friends.
