About Hockessin Friends Meeting

Worship at Hockessin Meeting is open to all.

Quaker faith is focused on lived experience of the Divine rather than on creeds or doctrines. Quakers (also known as Friends) come together to worship in silent expectation of unmediated communion with God. Worship begins at 10:45 a.m. All are welcome to attend.

Children are an important part of our meeting.

Children and teens participate in First Day School activities under the guidance of attentive teachers and then attend the last 15 minutes of worship. Childcare is provided for children pre-K and younger. First Day School for children begins at 10:30 a.m.

Living Faith

Quakers are committed to the testimonies of peace, equality, simplicity, integrity, and truth. We seek to live by the promptings of "that of God" within ourselves and to respond to "that of God" within every person. Quakerism is rooted in Christianity and finds meaning in the Bible and teachings of Jesus. While Friends find that Quakerism speaks to our condition, we recognize that ours is not the only way.

Spiritual Exploration for Adults

All adults are welcome to participate in informative study and discussion sessions held many First Days at 9:45 a.m., September to June. No sign-up is required.
