Making Peace with the Earth

A Peace Week Delaware Event

Jim and Janet Mitchell of Woodside Farm Creamery will talk about how they divert cups, ice cream containers (cardboard), and paper used at the creamery from going to a landfill and instead compost it along with manure from their cows so these can be reused to nourish crops. They will also highlight other current environment-friendly practices at this centuries-old, family farm.
Dee Durham will discuss the organization Plastic Free Delaware and what they are doing to change harmful, single-use practices and make our state healthier for wildlife and people. She will also identify ways that you could become involved in these efforts.
After the presentations, there will be refreshments, and guests will have an opportunity to decorate a reusable shopping bag. RSVP (to Friends@HockessinQuakerMeeting.org) helpful but not required.
