Fun Day for All

On October 6, 2018, from 8 am to 2 pm, the entire community is invited to the Hockessin Friends Meeting Annual Bazaar, which will be held at the Hockessin Friends Meeting House at 1501 Old Wilmington Road, Hockessin, DE.  Plenty of parking is available across the street adjacent to the burial ground.

The Bazaar promises to have a little something for everyone, from gently loved items and new crafts for sale to entertainment and refreshments. Keep your eyes open for a few surprises!

Items offered for sale come from the homes of the members and attenders of the Quaker meeting. They include household goods, small furniture, children’s clothing, kitchen items, decorative pieces, and books. All-new crafts include handcrafted jewelry, accessories, paper goods, ornaments, and other decorative items and are created by members and attenders of the Meeting.

The entertainment includes a Belly Dancing troupe, Classic Rock guitar and tunes by Gabby and Friends, Celtic music, and the Keestone Sax Quartet. All entertainment will showcase local talent and will perform on the hour.  There will also be children’s activities available while you shop and enjoy yourself.

Reasonably priced homemade take-out foods include jarred soup, assorted bakery goods, and hot and cold beverages.

The proceeds this year will go toward renovations of the Children’s First Day School at the Hockessin Friends Meeting. You are invited to tour the historic 1738 Meeting House and learn about Quakerism.  Admission is free, and donations are humbly accepted.  Rain or shine, come support a worthwhile organization and have some fun!
