CALN QUARTER'S SWATARA 2020 VIRTUAL PLENARY AND DISCUSSION: GROWING OUR MEETINGS

Growing Our Meetings

How does a meeting attract and retain new members?

Caln Quarter has created a Zoom session entirely focused on that question, with an offer for continued learning and engagement.  Originally created for the spring Camp Swatara program, it will now be online, May 2, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

The presenters will convey information and concrete ideas about membership development that Friends can bring back to their Meetings for consideration.   Topics include:

  • Findings of Facts on Growth study on expanding churches

  • Digital outreach

  • Appealing to the unchurched

  • Integrating newcomers

  • Optimizing the meeting’s physical presence in the community

  • Obtaining fundings from PYM’s Membership Development Granting Group

Participants will have the opportunity to discuss ideas in a break-out group and to submit questions to panelists.

There will also be an invitation to join the 2020-2021 Membership Development Zoom Series.  This working group will select subjects, listen to speakers, and discuss best practices.

This program is FREE although there may be an attendance cap.  It is open to all PYM Friends and guests from other yearly meetings.  For questions, irene5951@gmail.com.

(Note that the original program included a presentation by Barry Crossno, FGC General Secretary, who is recovering from illness.)
