Grand Rapids Friends Meeting
We are a small Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), averaging 12-20 worshippers each First Day at the Browne Center on the campus of Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
On the 1st First Day of each month Meeting for Worship is followed by a Potluck lunch.
On the 2nd First Day of each month Meeting for Worship is followed by a Meeting for Worship with Attention to Business.
On the 3rd First Day of each month Meeting for Worship is [sometimes] followed by a Program.
On the 4th First Day of each month Meeting for Worship is preceded by a Meeting of the Whole for Advancement, and followed by Singing.
3rd Sunday - Worship Sharing: We will be having a Worship Sharing session following Meeting for Worship on Sunday, March 19th on the topic of "Political Discussions in Meeting". A summary of the topic and worship sharing format is attached. Click here to open. All are welcomed and encouraged to join us for this important time of sharing.
Testimonies express in action Quaker beliefs in equality, simplicity, peace and community.
Some of us meet regularly at Schuler Books on 28th Street on Mondays at 11:15 am for informal conversations on a variety of topics.
Originally, we were the Quaker Men's Group, but now we allow (encourage) other kinds of friends as well (all genders).
