Provides leadership in the religious education and nurturance of the meeting’s children. Organizes the first day school and its curriculum.
Buys the necessary materials from its budget.
Reports the activities and plans to the meeting.
Assures that those who work with the children have SEYM child abuse prevention (CAPP) certification.
Promotes outreach and inclusion by:
Collaborating with the SEYM youth committee or other compatible groups on youth activities;
Phase I
Fostering curiosity, wonder and stewardship with a science-based approach;
Developing family-friendly outreach materials (online & printed).
Tabling at youth-oriented community events;
Offering a rotating schedule of approachable First Day topics that can be publicized.
Encouraging youth to engage in non-violent protests, ie. Standardized testing paradigms, gun violence
Providing pathways for more members to become CAPP certified; Phase II
Supporting youth attendance at more community activities, like the butterfly fest, bat fest, or Peace Jam;
Encouraging youth-oriented online community building;
Eventually:
Hosting a “Mom’s Quiet Hour”;
Celebrating GMM’s history of community service;
Hosting programs for homeschool groups;
