Workshop: Finding Your Role in the Movement for Peace and Justice

We are living in a moment of great fear, and great hope: of both climate crisis, and a global, youth-led climate movement; of both deeply entrenched structures of oppression, and bold conciousness-raising; of both a white nationalist resurgence and a powerful Movement for Black Lives. As people of faith and conscience, how do we contribute to these movements? Drawing on both Quaker tradition and social change theories, this workshop invites participants to look deeply at the different roles that are necessary for effective movements. Learning how to identify and value our unique contributions can help us to build more effective, resilient, and grounded movements for change, and to avoid burnout, disconnection, and despair.

This workshop will be facilitated by Kody Hersch.
