9 members and attenders at Framingham Friends meeting, 3 additional attenders, and 3 facilitators participated in an Alternatives to Violence Program workshop at the meetinghouse March 17-19.  Rather than soporific presentations and discussions, we enjoyed a lively and engaging series of exercises and games, teaching us to listen, to build community, and to be more positive and adaptable in our responses to conflict.  In the process, we got to know and appreciate ourselves and each other in new ways.  The skills and understandings we developed are directly applicable to responding effective

Many people in their 50s, 60s and 70s are asking,
“How can I find or design activities that align with my values?”
“How can I make the best use of my quality time left?”

On Sunday, December 18, after Meeting for Worship, we shared our annual Christmas Program.  We had music (Friendly Singers, the Isabelles, Doug and Melissa and Rowan, group caroling), a television program exploring controversy over origin of Christmas story by the First Day School, In the beginning was the Word, the story of the AFSC and our Christmas tree contributions.  A special event was the welcoming of Eowyn Hebert, who entertained us with sleeping and sucking on a candy cane.
