Fort Collins Friends Meeting conducts a First Day School for Young Friends. The School is in session during the Sunday morning meeting, 10:00 – 11:00 am. School ends with the Young Friends joining the adults in the last portion of the Meeting for Worship.

Young Friends range in age from babies through middle and high school. Our current enrollment is about six. We emphasize the learning of the Quaker testimonies (Simplicity, Peace, Integrity and Truth, Community, Equality and the Environment). We ground our lessons in Quaker history and values, but expose the Young Friends to a variety of religious traditions. We emphasize the environment through outdoor activities including our annual camping trip (August), attendance at the Intermountain Yearly Meeting at Ghost Ranch, New Mexico (June), and our annual ski trip (January).

We organize an adult education series twice a year (spring and fall) for Friends and for persons with an interest in Quaker faith and practice. In past years, this has taken the form of a series of evening dinners and discussions, a discussion of readings in coffee houses in Fort Collins and Loveland, and a set curriculum (Quakerism 101). Adult education aims to deepen Friends’ spiritual understanding within the life of our community.
