Workshop: Faith into Practice in the Life of the Meeting

Pastoral Care Committee continues with the second in a series of four workshops on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 10am-2pm titled Faith and Practice: Foundations of Quakerism.

Again designed for the beginner and experienced alike, the workshop will be in a presentation/worship sharing format and you do not have to attended the other workshops in the series to attend.

In June, we will move on to the third section of Faith and  Practice: Faith into Practice in the life of the Meeting.

This time we will focus primarily on prayer. “What is prayer” is a question that has come up for members/attendees over the years and will require sufficient time for us to explore and include the topics of living in simplicity and integrity. Finally, we will (hopefully) reflect on how our values are expressed in our daily lives throughout our various communities.

We request that people read Section 3 of Faith and Practice; Faith Into Practice in Personal Life pages 137-172 as well as reflect upon their own experiences with prayer and how your daily life expresses simplicity and integrity.

We will break for a light lunch which will be provided midday. Please contact Alicia Grafe at alicia.grafe@gmail.com or 603 828-6078 or Ginny Cole at starrwins2@aol.com or 603 973-2646 with any questions or concerns.

We encourage all to read those sections in 1985 Faith and Practice of NEYM of Friends. Faith and Practice is online at neym.org/faith-practice and in the DFM library if you need one. Please do not worry about the reading if you can't get to it.  This will be an experiential worship sharing/discussion and all are welcome!

Please register as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly.
