Kim Stanley Robinson On-line Talk

Kim Stanley Robinson speaks: Climate Ideas from The Ministry for the
Future. Long-time Davis resident and world-renowned author, Kim Stanley
Robinson writes science fiction books that move ever closer to our
present climate reality.  Generally, people choose science fiction to
escape the confines of the real world and step into imaginary space. But
Stan is an ardent backpacker and is himself devoted to the wonders of
life on this real planet. Some of his recent novels, including The
Science in the Capital Series, 2312 and New York 2140, are efforts to
awaken us to the peril of our own fragile environment as we humans
change our climate and put ourselves and all life on earth at risk.
Robinson is a climate warrior fighting to bring us back from a dangerous
precipice. Please join us to learn how Robinson imagines we can act
together to preserve life on this good earth and avoid a total climate
crisis as he ponders our immediate future in his latest cli-fi novel,
The Ministry of the Future.  Robinson will speak on Tuesday, February
23, 2021 at 7pm.  To register for the zoom talk, go to  Scroll to Cool News. In the story on Robinson, click
