Campbell Plowden founded the Center for Amazon Community Ecology (CACE) in 2006 to promote non-timber forest products as positive alternatives to deforestation. These fragrant essential oils and handicrafts create sustainable jobs and support better health, education and conservation. He will speak about this organization and how his relationships with native communities have affected his personal journey as a Friend. Products will be offered for sale, all of which benefit CACE partner artisans.

Dr. Plowden has worked to protect tropical forests for 31 years with groups including Greenpeace and the Humane Society. He earned a PhD in Ecology based on his studies with the Tembé Indians in Brazil. He is a member of State College Friends Meeting, PA.
