We, the Friends of Charlotte Meeting, commit to the following:

1.           We continue to seek the Light through worship and prayerful consideration. We shall be led by the Spirit in the face of climate change.

2.           We seek to understand the role we play as humans, and the dangers unfolding through climate change.  We continue to educate ourselves rigorously on these matters.

3.           We commit to act on our responsibility, both in personal use of resources and in the management of our meetinghouse resources. We ask: How can we have greater integrity in these matters?

4.           We commit to learning about and engaging in collective action and advocacy at the local, state, national and global levels.

5.           We seek to be examples and patterns, carrying this message forward to other Friends communities and to others who carry a concern and love for Earth.

Quakers and Climate Change Worldwide

https://quakersandclimatechange.com/

Many Quakers worldwide view climate change as a peace and justice concern. They seek to transform the human activities which feed environmental crises unprecedented in human history, including the rate of species extinction, ocean acidification, soil erosion, chemical pollution and the rate of rising global temperature. Many Quakers view these crises as symptoms of a broken relationship with the Earth. In turn, they seek to live with hope and love, to live more sustainably and fairly in cherishing Creation. This website is a resource portal for Quakers to share their actions, and to inspire each other.

FCNL Environment and Energy

https://www.fcnl.org/about/policy/issues/environment-energy

The U.S. Congress is pivotal to national and global efforts to meet the challenge of climate disruption. However, for Congress to be part of the solution, leadership is needed from members of both political parties. FCNL believes that our moral obligation to address climate change and protect vulnerable communities transcends partisanship. By changing the dialogue in Congress on climate change, we are paving the way for meaningful legislative solutions to gain bipartisan support and become law.
