Open house for New Quaker Volunteers in the Cities / Save the Date

Public ContentAnyone can view this post

When: AUG 25, 2-5 pm

Where: 3241 Park Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55407 (second and third floors)

What: Quaker Volunteer Services Twin Cities is beginning its second year with six new fellows placed in local nonprofit organization working for peace and justice and living in a  cooperative household.  The Open House is an opportunity for Friends from the local meetings to see the QVS house and give it a final blessing before the fellows arrive.

At last year's Open House, this quilt (created by Cindy Robinson, Corinne Smith and Jean Vick) was given to the volunteers as a gift of support and comfort. You are encouraged to lend support this year by bringing supplies to stock the pantry and items for welcome baskets (be sure to bring six of each item for the baskets, items could be anything that you think would either be useful and/or fun for someone unfamiliar with the Twin Cities). Even if you can't attend the Open House, you can deliver items to Meeting before that date.
