Wilton Quakers are celebrating World Quaker Day on October 4, 2020. The theme this year is: ‘What does it mean to be a Quaker today? Living a Faithful Life in a Changing World’.
We are completing our renovation of Helen Gander Hall (HGH formerly the Annex).
Our objective was to renovate HGH to meet the standards required by Connecticut Friends School, the state of CT for preschools, fix any current issues with HGH, and extend the useful life of the building.
We have made the building more environment friendly by replacing the roof, increasing insulation, converting to a more efficient HVAC system, and made other modifications to be more friendly to the CFS pre-school, as well as other prospective tenants.
Wilton Quaker Meeting is holding Meeting For Worship using Zoom during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Given the escalating COVID-19 virus situation, we have made some difficult decisions to balance our ability to worship as a community with the danger represented by even a few of us gathering to worship in person. There is no guarantee that a person without symptoms is actually free of the virus, so we have chosen to err on the side of caution, especially given that many members of our Meeting are in age and health groups that pose extra risk.
