A programmed Quaker Meeting in Farmington NY

News & Announcements

The Meeting's youth led us in worship today!  The service included hymns, prayers, special music, scripture reading, an "Adult Story" and a skit.  Also honored were three graduating Seniors: Jeremy Parker from SUNY Brockport, Kian Eckert from Victor and Megan Kipp from Pal-Mac.  Afterwards everyone enjoyed ice cream sundaes in the Education Wing.  Many thanks to Anne Gilson who has led the Sunday School program.  A recording of today's Youth Sunday service is posted on the "Resources" page.  Enjoy!

Family Promise of Ontario County (FPOC) will provide shelter, meals and access to support services to children and families who are homeless.  FPOC is a cost-efficient, effective way to help homeless families become sustainably independent.

Farmington Friends Church is a Host Congregation which provides fellowship and hospitality for families three to four times per year in a loving, caring atmosphere.  This includes safe overnight accomodations and home-cooked meals.

A full time Pastor position at Farmington Friends Church will be available in April 2017.  A job description may be downloaded on the News page.

Members and attenders are encouraged to check their last church directory and determine whether changes need to be made to the upcoming 2016 edition.  A new email address, phone number or moved?  Susan (Sharp) Pettig needs to know!  Contact her by email ([email protected]) or telephone 585.698.3986 by Sunday, January 31.

“Casual Sunday” - Following worship next Sunday, RE will be having a

movie/pizza day here at the meetinghouse with the Sunday School kids

to “kick off” their mid-winter break.  So we are encouraging them to come

dressed in their “PJs” or comfy clothes. To support the kids, the adults are

also encouraged to come to worship in their comfy clothes (sweatpants,

sweat shirt,  jeans, etc.) as well.

Sunday School starts up again in September.  Being a teacher is a great opportunity to get to know and work with the children of the meeting.  Whether you can do a couple of weeks, a month, half a year or the whole year is fine.  Nursery through 6th grade meet on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month.  If you are interested in helping, please contact Anne Gilson or Margaret Webb.
