The fundamental dignity of every person is the cornerstone of good public policy. Wisdom leads us to respect the diversity of our neighbors and to a shared prosperity for all. Words and laws that divide us have no place as Tennessee looks to the future. We need the strengths of everyone.

Friends believe the divine Light is accessible to all people, regardless of race, sex, age, or material wealth. Everyone has the potential to respond to God within. All persons ought to have the opportunity to develop their talents and skills under the leadings of the Spirit. Equality is not sameness. It is equality of respect. Every person is a child of God.

Nine Friends and family contributed video clips for this year's video for the Benjamin L. Hooks Library's Pride event on September 4. Happy Pride!

Memphis Friends Meeting is also contributing a gift certificate to the in-person portion of the event. The gift certificate to Hidden Springs Nursery is in memory of Hector Black.
