YES! is a statewide confab for all Delaware high school students interested in protecting our Earth, from home schoolers, to all public, parochial and independent schools in Delaware. The inaugural YES! was held in 2020 in Dover. Registration is now open for the fourth annual event to be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023.
For several months the New Castle County COVID community level has ranged from “low” to “high,” often changing on a weekly basis. Hockessin Friends Meeting will continue in-person worship, but we will base COVID protocols (masking, HEPA filters, etc.) on the Community level of the week. When the level is “high,” Meeting participants should be prepared to wear masks and hear the white noise of the HEPA filters.
Since mid-May the New Castle County COVID Community Level has fluctuated between “high" and “medium.” When the level is “high,” Hockessin Friends Meeting will respond by requiring that all persons wear masks and by operating HEPA filters on full power. When the level is “medium” (or “low”), masks will be optional for vaccinated individuals, and HEPA filters will operate on half power. Signs will indicate the NCC community level and the relevant response.
The COVID Community Level for New Castle County is now high. Therefore, beginning on May 22, Hockessin Friends Meeting will hold in-person worship in front of the meetinghouse. In the event of inclement weather, in-door in-person worship will be held, but all individuals will be expected to wear masks, social distancing will be practiced, and HEPA filters will operate.
At the conclusion of worship, coffee and limited food items will be available for outdoor consumption. Social distancing will be expected during worship and social hours.
The Hockessin Friends Ad Hoc Committee for Re-Opening believes it is safe to continue in-person worship for all weeks in May. Masks will be optional for vaccinated individuals, but unvaccinated individuals will be expected to wear masks. HEPA filters will operate.
At the conclusion of worship, coffee and limited food items will be available. Social distancing will be encouraged during worship and social hours.
Dear Friends, Because of declines in COVID rates and recent changes in CDC guidelines, the Hockessin Friends Ad Hoc Committee for Re-Opening decided to change several HFM guidelines.
