The Field Reports from the Yearly Meeting's Inter-generational trip to live and worship with our Cuban Quaker sister and brothers are fascinating. The group's scribe, Abigail Adams (Storrs) paints a vivid picture of the everyday adventures of the teens and adults on the delegation. Go to neym.org/puente to read them! And please consider joining a delegation yourself somtime in the future!
Two carloads of Hanover Quakers joined hundreds of others at a peaceful "Accompaniment Rally" at Manchester NH's Federal Building on June 6th. Standing in the cold, drizzly weather, we listened to many inspiring speakers why it is important for ALL of us to stand with immigrants, regardless of their legal status, as the federal government pushes to find excuses, however flimsy, to deport the people who do the work of harvesting our fields, caring for our older adults, and nurturing our children. When a wage-earner is deported, her family is left broken.
