Intentional Community in New England
Come explore with us!
Using the Meeting School in Rindge, New Hampshire as an incubator while the school is on sabbatical, a small group of Friends is exploring, building and hoping to sustain a Friends spiritual community. There are opportunities for full and part-time residence, work weekends and gatherings, as well as individuals to join the community for a day or a few at a time. We welcome your questions, your ideas and your prayerful support as we seek to build community and attend to that which God is calling us to do.
After traveling and visiting in New England, we have heard a real call to explore and create other ways of being together with each other and the Divine. "A Quaker Benedictine abbey" or a "place to be faithful" or "a place that puts God at the center" are all comments and longings we have heard expressed by Friends. Our response is to listen, share, and build.
Our first Work and Reflection Weekend is planned for
Friday, Aug. 26 through Sunday, Aug. 28 at the Meeting School in Rindge, NH:
- Please help spread the word.
- You are welcome from Friday afternoon through Sun lunch; or any portion of that time.
- We ask that you bring some food to share for breakfast or lunch or snacks; community dinner will be prepared Friday and Saturday evenings.
- Overnight cost is $15/night, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
If led, please bring a written piece that has life for you to share with others, such as a poem, a piece of Scripture, an article or story, or something that you have written recently. Our chores may consist of some painting and wood gathering for winter heat. There will be worship offered every day, and all activities are optional. Help us create community or hold us in the Light as we move forward.
