Templates and Materials for Leading Workshops on the Build It! Toolkit

The Youth Ministries Program of FGC worked for five years, from roughly 2006 to 2011, on a concern lifted up by meetings that youth and young adults feel a sense of separation from our meetings. In response, FGCs Youth Ministries Program has gathered a compilation of best practices for building youth-included community, which is presented in the book Build It! A Toolkit for Nurturing Intergenerational Spiritual Community. Leading a workshop on this book will help your meeting learn to use this resource in ways that suit the particular needs, concerns and character of your community.

The materials include a sample flyer, sign in sheet, checklist/timeline for preparation as well as sample agendas of different lengths for shorter and longer workshops.

Please also feel free to view the video clips we have collected to prepare for leading workshops and activities on the Build It! Toolkit, located here.  These short video clips are intended to help future workshop leaders see how some of the games and activities from the Build It! Toolkit look when played by actual Friends.

Workshop Templates for the Build It! Toolkit

All of the templates include an agenda as well as notes for introducing the book and for leading a discernment session. This roster of resources includes a document with notes and advices to consider in the planning stages as well as when you actually present the workshop. The intention of these resources is to provide a model which can be adapted to your particular community and presentation style.
