Nurturing faith and Quaker practice

Make a Deferred Gift

Joanne Clapp Fullagar (2008)

You can nurture the future of our Quaker faith by including FGC in your estate plans.  Gifts such as bequests in wills, charitable gift annuities, and various trusts enable you to make a tax-wise gift with lasting impact.  Some gifts can provide income for you and/or your loved ones for life.

Planned or deferred gifts are financial arrangements that enable you to make a contribution now that will support FGC in the future. Friends of modest means are often surprised to discover that they can give far more generously through their estates with planned giving than they could throughout their lifetime.

What plan is best for you depends upon your financial situation and your charitable goals.  Our Stewardship Services Program can provide you with valuable assistance in illustrating an approach that addresses your unique circumstances and goals.  Below are several common ways to work with us to arrange planned gifts to support Friends General Conference.

Bequests & Legacy Gifts

Stewardship is an important concept among Friends, and support for our Society is one of its hallmarks.  A bequest is one of the easiest ways to engage in good stewardship and support FGC with lasting impact.  Including FGC in your bequest plan, along with your family members, can help you fulfill practical and spiritual goals together.

Life Income Gifts

A life income plan from FGC allows you to make a gift to FGC and get income for yourself or loved ones from the assets. How do we do it? The proceeds from your gift are invested for as long as you are living. The income is paid to you or your designated beneficiaries. FGC receives all or a portion of the remainder of the assets at your death.

Stewardship Assistance

Friends General Conference now offers all Friends education in stewardship and confidential consultation in the areas of financial, retirement, and estate planning, as well as guidance in the area of stewardship investing from a peace church perspective through our Stewardship Services Program.

Friends General Conference will be glad to answer any questions you may have regarding planned giving.  Our Stewardship Services Program, in partnership with Friends Fiduciary Corporation and Everence, will be pleased to work with you to create a plan that balances your financial and philanthropic goals.  The results of such planning can provide you and your loved ones with many benefits and have a lasting impact on FGC and other charities of your choice.

Everence is a Mennonite financial services organization.  FGC and Everence are working in partnership through FGC’s Stewardship Services Program to provide a wide range of estate and financial planning services to Friends.

FGC is not a financial, legal or tax advisor. Please consult with your own advisors regarding your financial, legal, or tax needs to make certain that a contemplated gift fits well into your overall circumstances and planning.
