Meet the Organizers!

The may conference planning committee is made up of Friends from across the branches of Quakerism! Learn more about them below.

CaseyCasey Casey C. Kashnig is an unprogrammed Quaker who is a member of Urbana/Champaign Friends Meeting and Illinois Yearly Meeting (FGC). He graduated from Earlham College in 2006 with a degree in psychology. Casey is putting his education to use as a Milieu Counselor at the Cunningham Children's Home in Urbana, IL where he works with emotionally disturbed children. Casey is looking forward to learning firsthand how Quakers from different branches are alike. Last, but not least, Casey believes that he is a cartoon character.

FaithFaith

Faith Kelley grew up in Marysville, Ohio. There she attends Shiloh Chapel Evangelical Friends Church, which her dad pastored and her mom now clerks. Shiloh is affiliated with Evangelical Friends Church- Eastern Region. In 2007, Faith graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a bachelors in anthropology and linguistics. While there, she was employed by an ecumenical campus ministry and the secretary for the Interfaith Circle. She currently works and lives as an intern at the William Penn House, a Quaker center on Capitol Hill, in Washington, DC. Faith is excited about the possibilities for Evangelical Friends to be involved in dialogs with other Friends in ways they have not been in the past.

NathanNathan

Nathan Sebens grew up in Cana, VA, and attended Mt. Airy Monthly Meeting (NCYM-FUM) until he left for college. Nathan Graduated from Guilford College last December, and is now in his first year at the Earlham School of Religion in Richmond, IN. Nathan is also working on a Quaker Camping Songbook, which came from a trip he made to 10 Quaker Camps all around the Northeast the summer of '06. He is not clear where the future will take him, but is seriously considering Campus Ministry. And in case that doesn't work out, he is always watching for the opportunity to become the world's leading expert on really tall short people.

MayaMaya

Maya Wright is a lifelong member of Mountain View Friends Meeting (unprogrammed) in Denver, Colorado and Intermountain Yearly Meeting (currently independent/unaffiliated but considering joining Friends General Conference). Maya attended Earlham College and has a strong interest in Quaker History and spirituality, though she majored in Art History. Maya feels called to support and energize a new generation of Quaker leaders. She hopes the conference will be a time of deep worship, compassionate listening, and fun.
