Presenter's Guidelines--Being a Quaker Blogger

What does it mean to be a “Quaker Blogger”? How do Quakers approach writing for the internet, a platform that can often be a place of speed, where ideas are rarely “seasoned” and there is often very little deliberation?

We would like to experiment by asking for more reflection and intention with this Quaker Quest blog. To that end, we invite each blogger to:

1. Take a bit of time in worship to consider the queries or topic of the particular post.

2. Listen for what is rising from the Spirit and consider: Is this something that only applies to me? How will my story help others understand the depth of this experience?

3. Write 500-800 words that answer these questions directly and powerfully from your own experience. We encourage you to use a narrative style in your response, to tell your story.  Feel free to respond to one or several of these proposed queries.

4. Review the Hallmarks of Quaker Quest and consider how they might influence your response.

5. Sit with what you have written. Consider what changes could be made to make your writing clearer and more powerful.

Once we receive your submissions, your articles will be edited for clarity and conciseness.

We encourage you to stay in touch with us with any questions or concerns that you might have in answering these questions. Brainstorming sessions can work wonders!
