Qualifications of the Couple Enrichment Leaders

More and more meetings are seeking ways to support committed, caring relationships.

Couple Enrichment leader couples have gone through a leadership training that prepares them to lead other couples in Friends meetings in the process of nurturing their relationships. Couple Enrichment workshops sponsored by Friends General Conference (FGC) parallel a growing nationwide movement for marriage enrichment.

The Leaders

Each Couple Enrichment workshop is led by a couple who:

  • has been trained and recognized by Friends General Conference, in accordance with the standards of the Better Marriages organization.
  • bring to their leadership:
    • a commitment to growth in their own relationship
    • openness to sharing the joys and struggles of their relationship with other couples
    • sensitivity toward the needs and aspirations of the other participants with them in the workshop.
    • are able to work well as a team in group leadership.
    • know the strength of Couple Enrichment and are eager to share it with Friends throughout the United States and Canada.

Couple Enrichment Leadership Training:

  • can lead to recognition by Friends General Conference as leaders of Couple Enrichment
  • qualifies as basic training for certification by Better Marriages organization.
  • is open to committed couples without regard to gender identity or sexual orientation.
  • Prospective leader couples have participated in at least one couples retreat, workshop, or growth group prior to the training.
