Ideas for Teaching First Day School
INTRODUCTION/HOME
SUGGESTIONS FOR USEMarsha Holliday developed for her use in First Day School classes or collected the following First Day School ideas during her visits to monthly meetings, Religious Education Committees, and First Day Schools of the Baltimore Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends and to other meetings of Friends General Conference. Please submit additional ideas to Marsha at hollidaymsd@aol.com. Where the author is known, she or he has been credited. The authorship of all additional suggestions will be credited.
These ideas may be adapted to suit the needs of individual classes. Some of these ideas will require some research. For example, before building a cardboard house that might be like the home Jesus grew up in, you and/or your class will want to research what that would be like. Encyclopedias are a good starting place for research.
