Yearly Meeting Visitors Program

This year all affiliated yearly meetings as well as North Pacific and Iowa YM Conservative have had or have been assigned FGC Visitors. Please look out for these guests and make a special effort to greet the visitor to your own yearly meeting and help him or her feel welcome. Visitors are asked to attend the yearly meeting annual sessions, be available to answer questions about FGC and its programs, worship with Friends, and then make a brief written report back to the Yearly Meeting Visitors Committee (YMVC). .If you would like to know the name of the visitor planning to attend your yearly meeting please contact your yearly meeting clerk or e-mail Deborah Fisch at deborahf@fgcquaker.org. For many years the YMVC has sent volunteer members of FGC Central Committee to the affiliated yearly meetings of FGC and a few other unprogrammed yearly meetings. In 1998 this program came under the care of the Traveling Ministries Program. The YMV committee summarizes the visitors reports and presents the information to Central Committee to show how the Spirit is moving within FGC, and where our strengths as well as our concerns and challenges lie. These visits enrich the travelers by giving them the opportunity of worshipping in a different yearly meeting than their own, help FGC understand how we might better serve Friends, and hopefully also enrich the yearly meetings being visited.
