2008 Carbon Offset Project
You can take steps to minimize and mitigate the environmental impact of your travel. First, make careful choices about how you travel to the Gathering.
Consider taking a bus or a train! If you are driving, bring the maximum number of passengers.
Second, this year we have the opportunity to begin to offset the carbon footprint of the Gathering. Just thirty minutes from Johnstown is a beautiful wetland currently being restored by the Audubon Society. On Thursday afternoon, a special field trip will give Friends an opportunity to plant up to 1000 trees in this sanctuary for many species of birds, animals, fish, flora and fauna.
Please make a contribution to this effort when you register or when you arrive at the Gathering. (Planting one tree will cost approximately $5.)
