Singles Center

This supportive community is open to all Friends that describe themselves as Single from any stage of life.  We additionally welcome those attending FGC Gathering without their partner.  This center will try to balance serious fun with serious discussions.

Additionally, at the close of each evening you will find singles unwinding in the Singles’ lounge.  The Singles Center is what you make of it, thus connect with us when you can.  If you feel moved to do so, please bring something to share, such as music, playing cards, board games, volley balls, tennis rackets, poetry, stories, etc.

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr., we will have “Thursday afternoon call to action.” Much of the day will be focused on the query “How is the Spirit calling me to act here and now?”  The Singles Center is planning a Thursday afternoon discussion with the following working title: “Discerning:  Merge our ‘Call to Action’ into our busy lives.” (Time:TBA,  Location: Singles Center Lounge)

The Center’s primary goal is to enhance our FGC Gathering experience and connect with Friends in a safe environment, a friendly community with the larger Quaker community.  If someone would meet “that someone special” this would be a side benefit of our Center.

If you would like to be housed near other singles, please indicate this preference on you registration form.

Contact person is Janet Lamborn:  jil..click here..@hotmail.com or 610- 926-8362.

Cooperation in our Supportive community

  • The Singles Center Coordinator will not be able to attend all activities. Thus assistance is requested.  Please volunteer, as you feel moved to do so.
  • It is hoped leadership will rise among us.
  • The primary responsibility of an activity facilitator is getting an activity stared.
  • As you attend each activity it is up to put into it what you hope to get out of it.
  • Please feel free to bring with you what ever you wish to share.

Would Friends be interested in Worship Sharing about subject such as:
Forgiveness and “How does the spirit call me to act?”

There should be plenty of time for serious fun and serious discussions.
