Registration Tips
Read these tips before beginning online registration (link at the bottom of the page).
You are not able to save an incomplete registration. So be prepared before you start!
Decisions you need to make before registering:
- First and second workshop choices for adults and high schoolers
- Room & board plan for each person (see section below about Waitlists)
- Arrival date
- Likely form of travel to the Gathering
- If you are registering a high schooler, name of parent or sponsor who will attend the Gathering with that high schooler
Returning or First-Time User? We are using a new registration system, so last year's account will not pertain to your online Gathering registration. Unless you have already registered for the May 2008 YAF Conference, when you start your registration you are a First-Time User.
Don’t use your “back arrow” to return to a previous screen. When you get to your Cart, you may follow blue links to edit the information already entered. When you are in the Billing phase, you can return to your Cart via blue links.
More information is often available via blue links. These links open up new screens in the Gathering website – so you don’t have to worry about being thrown out of your incomplete registration!
Full-Time or Part-Time? If you are planning on staying off campus and you plan to attend the Gathering for five or more days, it is cheaper to register as a full-time commuter than a part-time attender. However, if you want on-campus housing, you must register as a Full-Time attender. You may choose to arrive late or leave early, but the price will not change. High Schoolers and Junior Gathering participants must participate in the entire Gathering.
Register yourself first, then at the Shopping Cart page, click on "Add another Attender" to add next person in your party. When you are done, at the Shopping Cart click on Continue to complete billing/payment information.
Housing Waitlists: If your preferred room and board plan is full, choose from an available plan and then add yourself to a waitlist by choosing one of the "Waitlist" options further down on the same page of the registration form.
Confirmation of Workshop selection: When you complete your registration, you will indicate your first choice and alternate choice workshops. 7-10 days later, your confirmed workshop will appear in your FGC Event Account (link below). After logging in to this account, click "View/Edit Forms" and then view "Confirmed Workshop".
Who should use the Family Program Fee: Families registering together who consisting of at least three family members and not more than two adults. Please read on.
Special information about the Family Program Fee. Families registering with up to 2 adults and related children high school age and under are eligible for the Family Program Fee ($615 online). If you wish to pay the Family Program Fee, it is important that you include all eligible family members in your registration and no one else. As you register these family members, each will be charged a temporary individual Program Fee. To claim your Family Program Fee, first register all eligible family members, then enter family in the Coupon Box in your Shopping Cart. This will result in credits equal to your current individual Program Fees, and the addition of a new Program Fee of $615. If you want to register a third adult in your family, or if you are attending Gathering with a non-family member, they will need to register separately. If you want to use the Family Program Fee and your family includes a part-time attender, please call the office 215-561-1700 prior to registering.
Workgrants & Scholarships: Each adult has a chance to request a workgrant. Scholarship requests are made after you enter all registrants and continue to the Billing phase. Neither requests for workgrants nor scholarships will show up on your invoice until they are actually awarded.
Changing your registration. You must contact the Gathering office to change your registration after it is complete.
MyAccount: Reviewing your registration after it is complete. After completing your registration, you will be able to return to your FGC Event Account (link below) to review your account information, view financial statements, and make additional payments. Although it may look like you can modify your registration (for example, change your workshop number), you can ONLY change Account Level Contact information.
