Limiting Fragrances: Why it Matters
Fragrances are omnipresent in our society: in perfumes, toiletries, laundry products, cleaning products, etc. Some Friends are allergic to many perfumes and natural fragrances, others react to the chemicals involved. Many people with asthma or chemical sensitivities can have a serious, even incapacitating, reaction to even a small exposure. We can’t eliminate all fragrances at the Gathering this year, but when all of us work to minimize exposures, the Gathering becomes a safer space for these Friends and all of us.
So PLEASE bring only fragrance-free toiletries. Any product with “fragrance” on its list of ingredients should be avoided. Fragrance-free bar soap will be provided to all, and the Gathering Store will be selling shampoo, conditioner, deodorant and shaving cream.
