High School Staff Application
Please return the application form below to the FGC office as soon as possible. If you want to be sure your application is considered, please submit it no later than April 7, 2008. All applications we receive after this deadline will only be considered on an as-needed basis and will not be considered at all if there is not sufficient time to complete background and reference checks. You may expect to hear our final staffing decisions by May 11, 2008. If you otherwise would plan to attend Gathering, do not hesitate to register early.
We do not accept every application, and prior experience with the program is no guarantee of automatic acceptance. Even if you have worked on the High School staff in previous years, please take the time to prayerfully consider the application queries.
Before you apply:
Due to our youth worker policy, all staff in the High School Program must (1) supply references, (2) be active with and known to a Friends Meeting for at least six months before attending Gathering, and (3) have a complete background check. The policy is aimed at ensuring that the open, loving, trusting community we’ve all come to look forward to can be maintained with the level of care we’ve come to expect. Any questions relating to the policy can be directed to either coordinator or to Traci Hjelt Sullivan, conference coordinator (gathering@fgcquaker.org; 215-561-1700).
The attached Criminal and Sexual Offence Investigation Consent must be mailed (rather than faxed or emailed), as the office must have an original copy of your signature on the form. If you submitted a completed application for the High School Program in 2005, 2006 or 2007, you do not need to resubmit the background and reference check portion of the application. If you are unsure what you need to submit, please ask Traci.
