Housing

Both single (one person) and double (shared) rooms are available with and without air conditioning. Most doubles share a private bathroom with one other room, and most singles are in suites. All rooms or suites have a microwave and small refrigerator. If your housing choice has already reached capacity when you register online, add your name to a waitlist; more of those rooms may become available in May and June. Mail-in registrants will be contacted directly if their housing choice is not available.

The University allows up to two children in Junior Gathering to sleep on the floor of a parent’s double room if both beds are filled. All rooms will have complete linen sets for each bed, including sheets, pillow case, bedspread, towel and wash cloth. Dorms do not have internet service. There is free wireless service and three internet kiosks in the Living Learning Center.

Dorm housing is available only for full-time Gathering attenders. No on campus housing is available prior to June 27 (except to workgrant volunteers by special arrangement) or after Saturday morning, July 5. Please do not bring any pets.

Clusters: The Gathering housing team will try its best to accommodate your cluster preferences. There will likely be Fragrance-Free clusters both with and without air conditioning. High School, Adult Young Friends, and Singles (i.e., unpartnered Friends) clusters will be in dorms without air conditioning. FLGBTQC will be in a dorm without air conditioning. If you would like to be housed with queer Friends but must have air conditioning, choose the FLGBTQC cluster and we will do our best to create an air conditioned FLGBTQC mini-cluster. AYF and FLGBTQC will definitely have gender-neutral, trans-inclusive housing blocks within their dorms. Everyone may choose General Housing if they do not want to join a cluster.

Fragrance-Free Housing: Friends choosing Fragrance-Free housing will share a bathroom with another Fragrance-Free room. It is not currently clear if these pairs of rooms will be clustered together. Friends who choose this housing agree not to use perfumes or scented personal or laundry products. Read more information for Friends with allergies and chemical sensitivities.

Access Needs: If you have difficulties with stairs or other special housing needs, please be very specific when you register or attach a detailed note. If you have concerns about how your needs will be met, please contact the FGC office.
