EarthQuaker Bike Trip
What is the EarthQuaker Bike Trip?
The EQBT is an eight-day, 275 mile, bicycle journey from Philadelphia, PA to Johnstown, PA. It is also a rolling, intergenerational community of Friends who will worship together, ask and live into questions about Earth Care, work hard, and have fun. For some it is an environmentally friendly option for getting to the FGC summer gathering, for others it might be a stand-alone event. You need not attend the FGC Gathering to ride.
The format for the bicycle trip will utilize the triangle model of worship, service and play. Up to forty participants will begin and end each day in worship together, undertake service opportunities, prepare & share meals and fireside chats en route, and bike through farms, towns, and the beauty of Pennsylvania’s Appalachian region.
Cyclists will be accompanied by support vehicles carrying luggage, food, and extra equipment so that individual bicycles will not need to travel loaded with baggage.
The EarthQuaker Bike Trip is being organized by an independent group of Friends, with the blessing of FGC.
We will gather for a kickoff celebration at Pendle Hill on June 19, spend the night there and leave after breakfast on June 20.

Support the Earth Quaker Bike Trip!
Volunteer! Donate! Lend us a stove!
We are in need of all sorts of support. The Earth Quaker Bike Trip is pulling together a rolling camp and kitchen and hoping to borrow all kinds of supplies from camp-stoves (propane “Coleman” type stoves) to sun showers, to tents or big cookpots.
We’re also looking for drivers with cars, Friendly Adult Presences and a large van for transporting luggage.
