Grants for Meetings
The Friends Meeting House Fund maintains a Grant Fund from which, at times, it may offer an outright gift to a Meeting with modest resources that wishes to improve its facilities for worship, First-Day School, or other community activities. Grants are usually within a range of $2,000 to $7,500, and depend, of course, on availability of funds. Meetings in Missoula (MT), Easton (NY), Hudson (NY) and Wilmington (DE) are recent recipients of grants.
Sustainability Fund
The Sustainability Fund of the Friends Meeting House Fund provides sustainability/greening grants to Quaker meetings. These grants are used for energy audits and green improvements, such as more efficient heating and cooling systems. While not direct carbon offsets, voluntary contributions to the Fund will support reduced emissions and energy efficiency in Quaker meeting houses across the United States and Canada.
