Friends Serving Friends: Gifts of Time and Service
Friends General Conference is an affiliation of fourteen yearly meetings and seven directly-affiliated monthly meetings working collectively to help nurture a vital Religious Society of Friends. This work is carried on by the hundreds of volunteers who serve on FGC's Central Committee, on program and administrative committees, on each year's Gathering Planning Committee, and as helpers, leaders, and doers at the FGC Annual Gathering of Friends. Many others serve as authors of Quaker curricula, books, pamphlets, and tracts; as travelling Friends to assist monthly and yearly meetings throughout North America; as correspondents answering inquiries about Quakerism; and as office volunteers.
We thank the hundreds of Friends who have served and are serving Friends in these myriad capacities. We also welcome others who feel called to contribute their time and energy. Please call or email Ellen Helmuth at the FGC office for information on how you can help. Email: ell...@fgcquaker.org, Telephone: (215) 561-1700.
FGC is governed by a Central Committee composed of 158 Friends, 100 of whom are appointed by affiliated yearly and monthly meetings.
