Nurturing Quakerism Campaign Exceeds Its $2,000,000 Goal
e are extremely pleased to report that the FGC Nurturing Quakerism Campaign
has exceeded its $2,000,000 goal! Even as we continue to receive gifts
and pledges, the Campaign has raised just over 2,400,000 to support FGC’s
greatly expanded programs for meetings and Friends. In the past four years,
under the leadings of the Spirit, FGC has initiated:
• The FGC Traveling Ministries Program
• Young Quakes conferences for Quaker teens
• A Committee for Ministry on Racism within our religious society
• Annual regional conferences in different parts of North America
• A greatly expanded FGC website, www.fgcquaker.org
• A new outreach website, www.QuakerFinder.org
• New initiatives in outreach and publications.
The goals of the Nurturing Quakerism Campaign were to raise a net total
of $2,000,000 to be used in the following ways:
• $500,000 of “start-up” funds to help launch FGC’s
expanded services for Friends.
• $350,000 of limited-term endowment, the interest from which
will provide general support for our new and expanded services.
• $350,000 of limited term endowment, the interest from which
will be used to help cover the extensive travel costs of FGC volunteers
and staff.
• $800,000 in increased Annual Fund contributions during 2000
& 2001.
We are very grateful to have met and exceeded all these goals. We want
to express our deepest gratitude to all Friends, monthly meetings, yearly
meetings, and Quaker granting agencies whose generous support has made
this campaign such a success.
