Pre-Gathering Excursion to Rocky Mountains

View from Trail Ridge Road (photo by Sally Pearce)

From Mexico to Alaska, for 2,700 miles the Rocky Mountain chain forms the backbone of North America, the world’s longest mountain barrier. Here tree line and tundra are accessible to all along Rocky Mountain National Park’s Trail Ridge Road. The highest continuous highway in North America, Trail Ridge Road tops out at 12,183 feet above sea level.

Saturday June 29 or                         Sunday June 30

The excursion will depart from the University of Northern Colorado Campus in Greeley at 9 am and return by 5 pm.  The excursion will include about four hours along Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park.

This is a viewing and learning trip by tour bus, not a hiking trip. The tour is intended to be leisurely.  There will be opportunity for short walks.

Price

$54 covers the entire trip, including lunch, a guide who will be on the bus, the Rock Mountain National Park entrance fee, and gratuities.

How to Register

What about housing and meals?

You may order pre-Gathering housing for the nights of June 28 or 29 when you register for the Gathering.  Lunch is provided during the excursion.  Other meals may be purchased on campus (details about early meals available by late March).
