Via online, telephone and paper registration, FGC collects the e-mail address, mailing address, and phone numbers of registrants for FGC events, including the FGC Gathering, Central Committee, small conferences and other activities. The information we collect is used to communicate with registered Friends about the event that they have registered for. It is also used for the following purposes:
Use of email addresses:
For the FGC Gathering and some other FGC Events, we will use registrants' email addresses for an Event Attenders List. When you register, you may choose not to be included on the Event Attenders list. We will use email addresses to send you occasional information about future Events and other FGC programs. When we send one of these emails to your address, you will have the opportunity to specify what types of emails you wish to receive from FGC, or you may opt out of all informational emails from FGC. You may opt out of such emails now by e-mailing us your preferences here. We do not sell or trade email lists to any other organization or company.
Use of postal addresses:
We do not sell or trade our mailing lists to any other organization or company, although we do share lists within Friends General Conference. As a result you may receive information from Development, QuakerBooks, small conferences or other programs of FGC. If you do not wish to receive such mailings or only wish to receive mailings related to events you have attended, please let us know by contacting us, as specified in the following paragraph.
Use of phone numbers:
The telephone number which is designated as "preferred" by the registrant will be included in the Event Attenders List. When you register, you may choose to be excluded from this list. We occasionally use phone numbers to solicit previous donors to FGC. If you do not wish to be solicited by phone, please contact us at 215/561-1700 or email us here or write us at FGC Events, 1216 Arch St 2B, Philadelphia, PA 19107.
Opportunity to review and edit Event Attenders List:
At the FGC Gathering (during on-site check-in or at the Information desk on Monday), you may remove or correct your phone number, postal address or email address from the draft Gathering Attenders List. For other Events, contact the FGC staff responsible for the event to remove your name from an Attenders List.
Use of demographic and survey data:
FGC collects demographic information to better understand and describe the group of Friends we serve. We may occasionally communicate with you based on information you provide us about your primary racial identity or age.
We make surveys from time to time, including the FGC Gathering Registration Survey and the FGC Gathering Evaluation. Your survey responses are often not anonymous, but they are always confidential. Key FGC staff or committee members are able to see your specific responses, and may occasionally follow up with you about your feedback, especially if you request such follow-up. Otherwise, your survey data will be used for statistical and evaluative purposes only, and will not be associated with your personal identity.
From time to time, we may use personal information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future we will post the policy changes to our Web site to notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt out of these new uses. If you are concerned about how your information is used, you should check back at our Web site periodically.
