Friends Meeting House Fund In 1955 the Advancement Committee of Friends General Conference created a way for Quaker meetings to borrow money to help build, buy or renovate their meeting houses. In the 40+ years of the Friends Meeting House Fund existence, it has lent or granted over $2,000,000 to more than 135 Quaker meetings mostly in North America. The Fund welcomes inquiries from any Quaker meeting. Affiliation with FGC is not required. In addition to financing the fund's directors have developed guidelines and checklists for financial and space planning that can guide a meeting through the process of deciding the right course of action. On site consultations can be arranged. Mortgages are offered for a term of 15 years at a fixed interest rate with no prepayment penalties. From FGConnections.
