Gretchen Woelfle will give a talk on her most recent book Answering the Cry for Freedom: African Americans and the American Revolution. This is a collective biography of thirteen men and women, free and enslaved, northern and southern, who were inspired by the talk of white patriots and sought liberty and equality in whatever ways they could. Some became Black Loyalists and were freed by the British.  

She'll give a powerpoint presentation on the creative process that took seven years from the spark of an idea to finished product.
