HADDONFIELD QUARTERLY MEETING

Welcoming Young Families and Other New Seekers

                                                                      June 3, 2017

Dear Parents, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles:

Please plan now…   to participate in the upcoming picnic on Sunday, June 27 at Haddonfield Monthly Meeting, 45 Friends Avenue, Haddonfield.  More details are included in the attached flyer.  Worship will begin at 10 AM, followed by introductions and plans for the day.  Lunch will begin a bit before Noon, and be followed by various activities such as music and games. (Please bring song-books and instruments.)

There will be fun activities for the children throughout the day.

Special time will be set aside for parents and others responsible for children to get acquainted.  We would also like to brainstorm ways that our respective monthly meetings and Haddonfield Quarterly Meeting could provide more opportunities for children from different meetings to get together for fun -- as well as to provide support for those who are responsible for children.

This discussion will be planned by a new committee of the Quarter focusing on ways to welcome and support children and their families.  Some of the ideas suggested thus far have included:   Holding a separate event for children and family members such as a visit to Taylor’s Farm or a day at Camp Darkwaters, having children prepare projects in their meetings and bring them to display at future Quarterly meetings, and  approaches to religious education for children.   The Quarter might provide a series of classes on Quaker-based parenting, or other activities for parents and others responsible for children.

What activities or educational programs would be interesting – or helpful for you?

When would be the best times to offer these activities?

Please RSVP if you hope or plan to attend the picnic, so we will know in advance how many families will be present.   Or, if you are unable to attend but want to provide input please submit your ideas.

RSVP/Contact:  Linda Lotz, via  Haddonfieldquarterly@yahoo.com or by calling 856-979-4560.
