Job Description - Advancement and Outreach Quaker Quest Assistant

General Statement:  

This is a support position for the Advancement and Outreach Program of Friends General Conference.  Primary responsibility is with the Quaker Quest (QQ)  program.   The assistant will work under the direct supervision of the A&O Coordinator.

Desired Qualifications:
  Membership in the Religious Society of Friends and good knowledge of unprogrammed, liberal Friends practice.

Education:  College degree or equivalent in experience.

Experience with:  Computer processing, including Excel and Microsoft Word, or similar programs.               

Skills:         

        1.  Ability to organize complex projects.
        2.  General office work, including word processing.
        3.  Routine written communications, including letters and email.
        4.  Excellent verbal communications, including on the telephone.
        5.  Familiarity with websites, blogs, and other electronic communication.  
             
General:           

        Ability to give attention to several projects at one time.
        Good team player.
        Professional attitude.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.    Organization

▪  Develop and maintain systems to keep track of monthly meetings considering or undertaking     some stage of the program.
▪  Maintain contact information.
▪  Organize workshops.
▪  Handle reimbursement information.
▪  Maintain a file of publicity materials.
▪  Develop a Power Point presentation on the steps a meeting needs to take for Quaker Quest.
▪  Develop additional Power Point or similar resources for communication.
   
2.    Web Sites
▪  Develop new material.
▪  Monitor web pages.
▪  Work with the web-designer to keep the websites up to date.

3.  Packets and Displays
▪  Assemble materials for yearly meetings and the Gathering.
▪  Organize and maintain a packet of materials for events and workshops.

4.  Flyers, Posters, and Other Literature
    ▪ Periodically review the documents that have been created to support workshops.
▪ Edit program documents.

5.  Other Duties
▪ Update and assist with revisions to Quakerfinder.org.
▪ Assist with A&O Committee meetings.
▪ Other duties as assigned by A&O Coordinator.

Hours: Full-Time
Salary: $25,000-27,000
